Below are what you can expect to happen in all of our Preschool classrooms:
At most, classrooms can have 20 students and two teachers.
All staff members shall wear face masks to reduce the risk of potential spread.
Staff can remove masks while children are on the playground, but must keep the masks with them so they can assist children while playing.
Staff shall wear masks in the classroom.
To the extent possible, children should remain in the same assigned group each day to reduce the likelihood of potential exposure.
Within the classroom, students will be broken up into two smaller groups called pods.
One pod will do all of their activities like carpet time, center time, naptime, etc. on one half of the room. They will also walk to and from the playground or go to the Multi-Purpose room with their pod.
The second pod will do all of their activities like carpet time, center time, naptime, etc. on one half of the room. They will also walk to and from the playground or go to the Multi-Purpose room with their pod.
Teachers will oversee their pod. The pod can be broken down into small groups (e.g. 20 children divided into 4 groups of 5 with 2 teachers overseeing 10 each).
Large group learning will still occur. However, teacher will be socially distant from students and the students will still be in their pods.
Classrooms shall be arranged so there is more space for movement, and social/physical distancing.
Some items will be removed from the classroom and returned when safer conditions warrant including the water table, sand table, soft toys, pillows, dress up clothes, cozy nooks and all items made out of cloth or soft material.
Emergency drills i.e. fire drills and tornado drills will continue to be conducted on a monthly schedule. However, it may be necessary to conduct the drills one classroom at a time to main proper CDC social distancing.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE PROCEDURES WILL CHANGE ACCORDING TO THE GUIDANCE WE RECEIVE FROM OUR GOVERNING BODIES.
